Our Story

About Smyth Stolarz Construction Ltd.

Smyth Stolarz Construction Ltd. is an Edmonton based renovation company that has served the Edmonton community for well over a decade. Focused on the needs of their clientele this small renovation firm quickly grew through referrals and word of mouth as their reputation for quality work grew.

The story of Smyth Stolarz Construction began over a decade ago when Aaron Smyth and Mike Stolarz saw a need for a company that concentrated on providing clients a better renovation service. After working in large construction firms it became clear that many clients of these companies were left unfulfilled by the work they received. Through these experiences our founders realized a better way. After knowing each other for years from their 4th year carpentry apprenticeship, the two now journeymen came together to create Smyth Stolarz Construction Ltd. At the time of it’s inception this new renovation company took a new client focused direction to renovations that it still holds true today.

Smyth Stolarz moved away from the “builder-grade” minimum standard practice that’s followed by so many of the larger companies. Instead Aaron and Mike utilized their years of knowledge and experience to help their clients get the most out of their investment. This personalized approach to renovation has proven over time that happy clients make for good business.

Still to this day Smyth Stolarz Construction maintains their client focus business approach. Though the company has grown over the years, owners Aaron Smyth and Mike Stolarz have carefully grown the capabilities of their renovation and home building company while not sacrificing the craftsmanship their company was built on.

Meet The Team

Aaron Smyth

- Journeyman Carpenter, WCB Licensed and Insured

An amusing and whimsical character to be around, Aaron’s pride in his work and craftsmanship are unrivaled. A journeyman carpenter by trade, Aaron began his career working for one of Edmonton’s largest renovation companies. Over time the revolving door of minimum quality for maximum quantity led him to seek a more fulfilling alternative. This experience fueled the fire for him to leave the large firm and lead to the Smyth Stolarz partnership.

Also a journeyman carpenter, Mike cut his teeth building highrises. For many years he worked in commercial construction for an Edmonton commercial concrete contractor. A sympathetic individual Mike has always been able to share the perspective of others. This characteristic made for a natural transition into the dawn of the Smyth Stolarz partnership.

Client Focused

Happy clients is why we do this

For so many years the Edmonton construction industry has been plagued by minimum standard proprietors and home builders rushing from one job to the next. This method of construction and renovation left many dissatisfied clients in their wake.

Smyth Stolarz Construction is different and for over the past decade has taken a different path to that of their competitors. It’s alway been about the clients at Smyth Stolarz Construction. With each renovation project beginning with a good understanding of the client’s vision and ending by making that dream a reality.

Maintaining this level of service has been a challenge over the years. As the business has grown the focus has always had to stay on the needs of the clientele. There is a fine balance between business capacity and client satisfaction. The growth of Smyth Stolarz Construction has always been carefully managed in order to keep these values. Even as the business continues to grow and more projects are completed, the way we value our clients will never change.
